In psychology, self-esteem or self-worth is a person's self-image at an emotional level; circumventing reason and logic. Self-esteem is the opinion you have of yourself. It is based on your attitude to the following:
Your value as a person,
The job you do,
Your achievements,
How you think others see you,
Your purpose in life,
Your place in the world,
Your potential for success,
Your strengths and weaknesses,
Your social status and how you relate to others,
Your independence or ability to stand on your own feet .
What you can do?
To improve your self-esteem and confidence you must not pretend to be anything that you're not and don't be put off by other's who try to convince you that you are wrong. Trust your intuition and your feelings to make the right decisions for yourself. Try some of the following techniques to improve your self-esteem:
Low self esteem feeds on negative messages and thoughts so don't indulge in self-criticism.
Don't always try to please others. It is considerate when you care about others, but your needs are just as important, so don't neglect yourself!
Don't try to be like someone else. This leads to lack of self worth and confidence. You are unique and you cannot be someone else. Strive to be better but don't criticise yourself for not being as successful, as beautiful, as slim or as popular as someone else, as these are only your opinions.
Don't take life or yourself so seriously. Everybody fails on their way to succeeding, don't look on it as failure but as a means to learning. Perhaps you just need a change of direction. Problems can make you stronger if you strive to overcome them.
Focus on your successes. Lack of confidence feeds your feelings of failure and inadequacy. Remember the truly successful things you have done in your life. Reward yourself when you do succeed.
Use positive affirmations and quotes. Read them every day or when you are feeling negative and in the need of inspiration.
Focus on your strengthsand use them. You will succeed if you are true to yourself.
Develop and work at achieving your goals. If you do this your confidence will increase and you will feel positive.
Do your best at everything you try.

Health Kinesiology
Health Kinesiology (HK) is a holistic system of natural health care that uses muscle testing to communicate directly with the body. In this way, HK can identify the areas of stress in the body and the mind and then find the best way to alter the body’s reaction to these triggers that are causing low self-esteem. It does this by using gentle yet powerful energy-correcting techniques. HK practitioners are carefully trained to home in on emotional, physical and biochemical imbalances produced by stress and then to gently bring the body back into harmony and balance. Regular use of HK techniques can enable people to increase their sense of self worth and confidence.
